The Electro-Fish Team

You can have the best equipment, but if you don't have the right people, you're toast. Our team is our not-so-secret weapon. They are documentarians who come from incredibly rich backgrounds across the entire spectrum of media industries. Even more so, they are required to have BOTH of the following:

1. Top Talent in their crafts
2. Finely-tuned client/audience-relationship skills

Authentic-style filmmaking is an art and a science. It's a constantly-adjusting middleground somewhere between cinematic bliss and fast-paced news gathering. That's why we've spent years developing our team to include only those who can do both... and do so with a spectacular attitude.

Electro-Fish scales to meet any-sized need (from one camera to 13), however the following folks are some of our key people.

Chris Elley

Director / Producer / Writer
A life of fascination with all things has led Chris Elley to a habit in film. He began producing and directing before he was old enough to drive. His work has appeared everywhere from CBS NEWS 60 MINUTES to THE FOOD NETWORK and has earned him two EMMY Awards along with multiple nominations. Before launching Electro-Fish full-time, Chris served as Director of On-Air Marketing and Senior Producer for CBS KEYE Austin. Chris holds an M.A. in Mass Communication from Texas State University and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Texas Lutheran Universtiy. Chris routinely teaches communication strategy to Masters and PhD-level social scientists and is also a guest lecturer on cultural topics.

Cile Spelce Elley

Director / Producer / Writer
A life-long communicator, Cile Spelce was born with an insatiable appetite to learn about people, places and things. As such, she has dedicated her entire career to telling people’s stories. A multiple EMMY award winner, she has created, written, produced and presented short and long form real-life stories for broadcast media for 20 (ish) years.

More than half of Cile’s story telling career was devoted to journalism. She covered stories ranging from the Branch Davidian Standoff to presidential elections. She also proudly co-anchored the evening news in Austin, TX with her father, Neal, as the nation’s only father-daughter anchor team. After life in news, Cile loaned her talents to the University of Texas System, creating innovative communication strategies, developing and co-producing a PBS series and media and speech coaching the bigwigs. Through her work with Electro-Fish, Cile also teaches communication and media strategy to Masters and PhD-level social scientists and to the U.S. military. Cile received her B.A. in Communication from Southwestern University.

David Blue Garcia

DDirector / Director of Photography
David Blue Garcia is an incredibly talented Director and Director of Photography with work that has appeared across a multitude of television networks and international film festivals. He's a man of few words and prefers that you view his work.

Neal Spelce

Senior Advisor
Electro-Fish didn’t have to go far to find one of the most talented communicators in the country to act as Senior Advisor to top clients. Neal Spelce is a communications executive whose five decade career has been distinguished by successes in radio, television, marketing, advertising, public relations, broadcast program syndication, speaking, consumer research and journalism.

Neal’s won about a gazillion awards and recognitions, including the Silver Anvil - the nation’s highest award for PR, the nation’s top award for radio news reporting and the National Headliners Club highest award for consistently outstanding TV news coverage. He recently served as a Senior Advisor to US Senator John McCain in the final 90 days of his 2008 campaign for President. His communication consulting spans party lines and also includes Governor Mario Cuomo and Governor Ann Richards. Neal holds three communications degrees, a B.F.A. in Radio/TV, Bachelor of Journalism, and B.A. in Speech from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dave Rehm

Director of Photography / Editor
A video veteran and Chicago native, Dave Rehm has whole-heartedly embraced Texas (with the exception of his small obsession with Chicago sports). His work has screened on PBS and at prestigious film festivals across the country. His skills span the disciplines of shooting, editing and motion graphics. He holds a radio-television-film degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is one of the most rhythmic, talented editors around.

John McKallip

Digital Imaging Technician / Audio Supervisor / AP
The world seems to happen in rhythm around John Mckallip. His love for music led him into a career in filmmaking. He has worked on varied productions for industry giants such as HBO, DISCOVERY and ESPN. John has a B.A. in Mass Communication from Texas State University. Two EMMY statues bookend the mantle in his house (usually holding up some pretty deep, philosophical books).

Adam Garner

Animation / Music
Can you have a Renaissance man in the 21st Century? If so, we vote for Adam, a wonderfully gifted musician who brings his sense of style to unique on-screen animation and motion graphics. Adam has headed projects for high profile clients such as Microsoft, AT&T and Whole Foods. He is also addicted to celluloid, shooting music videos and other projects on film whenever possible.

Bob Boucher

Art Director
Bob has been working professionally in Graphic Design, Advertising and Marketing for over 30 years, and was involved with launching two car companies, Infiniti (at HHCC in Boston) and Saturn (at Hal Riney & Partners in San Francisco). Bob's long-standing interest in film-making was realized when he co-produced and art directed BARBECUE: A TEXAS LOVE STORY. Whenever possible, Bob rides his trusty K75S BMW Motorcycle, which he's owned for more than 20 years and has ridden over 150,000 miles.

Jeremy Rodgers

Camera
A true man of mystery, Jeremy has been too busy making beautiful images to submit his bio info. We know that he's quite simply one of the most natural talents we've ever seen. He served on the camera team for Academy Award winning director Terence Malick's TREE OF LIFE with Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. He's also worked on NBC's FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and traveled the globe extensively with a camera in-hand. A usually healthy guy, Jeremy will occasionally find guilty pleasure in a Burger King Whopper.
